Joe, The Woodlands, TX —November 3, 2005 I just had to drop you both a line and let you know that I haven't had this much fun driving since I had ad old '75 Corvette in graduate school. And my '75 Corvette never handled like this WRX. The new Eibach springs have really made a big handling difference and I don't have the new tires yet. Believe it or not, I actually almost sold this car earlier in the year since it really didn't have as much zip as I was hoping for when I purchased it. It was quick off the line, but not exactly what I was hoping for —especially in low gears. I finally decided to either sell or upgrade —and boy am I glad that I upgraded. Thanks very much for your recommendations and the work you folks did. I can't wait to get the new clutch and flywheel. I expect that I probably will need some performance brake pads by then as well. —January 9, 2006 I thought I'd send a quick update on the Lexus GS400. First, one must accept that you cannot turn a Lexus sedan into a performance sports car —no matter how big the engine is. However, I can say it runs much more freely and has great acceleration boost from 20mph all the way to 100mph. The sound is perfect —not too loud for a sedan of this type. So it looks like the Lexus mod project was a success! Brakes are working fine too. Now, on to the hot-rodder —Dotty! She took one look at my Lexus K&N intake system, and then one look at her closed up Vette system and said, "Bring on the mods"! So, looks like we have a K&N intake present all picked out for the birthday girl. Maybe we'll stop by on Friday to discuss. —January 29, 2006 So far, we haven't been able to give the C5 a real good one yet. My sprint home was a good one. Dotty will give it a run next week. Please thank Mike for his work on our behalf. Dotty said she's thinking about the Borla full exhaust with x-pipe. Please work up an estimate for us. Since we've already given each other birthday presents, I guess we'll have to consider these potential Valentine's presents or anniversary presents!
